Stripboard layout

If you don't have access to PCB making equipment, here is a strip board layout sent to me by Gabriel Florea which you can use as a guide to make a round LED chaser.  Gabriel say's:
"
I used 10mm high brightness green LED's (70,000 mcd), so I thought it will be maybe better to keep some distance between the LED's. I used 150 Ohm resistors instead of the 270 Ohm. In the attachment you will find my layout on a test-board, it is tested and it works fine"

Notes:

  • Unlike the LED chaser on the main page, these designs don't have an on-board 5 volt regulator or ICSP header. The boards will require power from an external 5 volt regulated power supply. Alternatively you can power them from 3 x AA batteries.

  • Since there is no reverse polarity protection diode pay special attention when connecting the power supply to the boards.
